What is Canvas?
Canvas is a visual space for AI conversations. Instead of one long chat, your messages form a tree: continue a thought, explore an alternative, or return to an earlier point without losing the other branches.
How is a branch different from a new chat?
A branch keeps the path that led to it. The AI receives the conversation from your first message to the message you selected, plus your new question. Other branches stay on the map, outside that answer’s context.
Do I need my own AI account?
Yes. The current Canvas app uses your own funded DeepSeek API key. Canvas supports DeepSeek Flash and DeepSeek V4 Pro; availability depends on your provider account. DeepSeek bills you directly for model usage.
Where are my conversations saved?
In this browser, on the device and app address you use. The current app has no cloud backup or cross-device sync. Clearing its browser data removes saved canvases, so keep that in mind before clearing site storage.
